This poem says a lot in a very honest and meaningful way.  Good job.

Tigerprincess,
I suppose that writing a poem about something that hurt you is one way of cathartising it. Too bad I never liked poetry...  ...although yours is very expressive.

Tigerprincess - so young - already so wise from willingness to learn and grow - a mindset appropriate from cradle to ...the end.

Tiger, I love rhyming iambic pentameter when it is well done.  This is well done and that makes it great.  Thanks for the visit and nice comments!

I think it's because when we write things out it allows us to see things from a thrid pary veiw rather than being so close to it.

It's like when they say to write the letter to the person but don't post it. Writing it is enough to help us see things more clearly

I fully agree. I hadn't thought about this poem in a long time, but when I decided to post it it just came back to me, and made me realize I've come a long way.

I like poems that have memories attached and not just emotions.

It's easier though to experience the pleasureable ones, yet the hard ones make us better people if we let it.

tiger!
Of course! The boring things that happen rarely make for a good story...it's only the things that move us, be they to pain or pleasure...that really engage others. The ability to express those things in a tangible written form is a gift that I treasure.

tiger...
...absolutely. Writing is so often a form of catharsis.
