Darkke -
I've been there as well. I many times have to remind myself of this during meditation.

Isn't that the dangdest thing? And you are right. It is the ONLY road worth traveling.

That seems to be THE message to me too.  But there are so many people out there who are claiming Christianity is about opposing gay marriage, or sex, or abortions that I doubt my own thoughts and wonder what I missed.

isn't it interesting

that it is so much easier to act loving, sometimes, and see God in strangers than those that are closest to us?

It is a long road to be worthy of that first commandment - but it is the only road worthy to travel.

I guess I will never be good enough to meet that first commandement

Jeremy -
I think I see what you are saying in both instances. Giving a dollar to a homeless person may mean little to me, but it may be a lot to the homeless person. I agree, but I think that the act of giving always means something, if it done strictly from a position of love. I also agree that you can commit a loving act for someone and they may not feel anything as a result of it. But again, I think committing the act is what is necessary - how the person who receives it feels, while you would hope it would make them feel as good as it does for you - is really not the point.

Hi Sannhetseeker

someone can do an act or gesture to you in a deeply loving way yet the person who the gift is intended for may feel nothing, and also I can give a homeless person as in your last post a dollar and this may mean little to self but may be worth more than money for the homeless person.I also give to most homeless persons I see in asking or with hats out,and I feel good in doing so and surely they do as well.thanks
