Have you read The Lost Books of the Bible & The Forgotten Books of Eden?

"Christ was the joyous boy of the fields. We are not permitted to think that the shadows of Calvary darkened His pathway as a youth and the Apocryphal Books of the New Testament show a great deal of the early life of Christ not to be found in the four Evangelists." Dr. Talmage

Its some very interesting reading and definately gets one to thinking about why certain writings were included and others excluded in comprising our book of the "Word" of God....especially given the fact that people want us to take it as absolutely literal.

The four gospels in the new testament were chosen because they concentrated more on Christ and his teachings than the others. As such, they were more consistent with each other, in terms of verifying and endorsing what was in the other three. Apparently, there were more than twenty such gospels and codas. But the chances of seeing any of them are rather low.

And the really interesting thing is
That the printing press was forced for economic reasons to make only 'one' or a 'handful' of Christianity available. In fact, the cheaper printing has become, the more sorts of christianity there are available. The thing I find most fascinating though is that there isn't one secular historical bit of evidence for the existence of Christ at all. The only thing we have is the Dead Sea Scrolls which indicates that someone lived around that time who was a martyr (but didn't claim to be the son of God or make miracles). I often wonder if there was an educated population, a media that brought it to the people, if Jesus would have been the person he is today...
