OBP,

Do you know what happened to her? Probably lost in the shuffle of life like most of our childhood stuff. Ya know, I gotta admit, dolls like that kinda freaked me out. Yeah, cause like, the ones that peed and cried real tears and stuff were, well, I don't know how to describe it but I just didn't want any part of them. I think it's all related to my fear of rubber and plastic people.

Spiffy
I used to have a "Tiny Tears" doll. I would love to kiss her again. She made real tears!

OMG Alf!!
That has got to be one of the cutest things I've ever read!! I swear! My brother had a Bozo doll (the clown) that he adored. One day, my dad took him away cause he said boys shouldn't have dolls or something like that. (He was only about 6 or 7 years old....my brother that is!) Anyway, my poor brother was so sad. He said to my dad, "Dad, please don't take my Bozo away. He's my friend." My dad caved and gave him back.

Jimmy,

Is SpitFite to be added to the list of all my nicknames now? Oh, and what was your koala bears name? **curious Aries girl must know such things**

ginnieb,

She must have been a girl and she could have been "chico and the man" hehe. My brother had 2 monkey stuffed animals. My dad called one Senior Schmeck Dreck and the other was Junior Schmeck Dreck.

Strat,
I played with bugs, too. Ate them on occasion. I used to love to fling the rolly polly bugs (gently, of course.) I could never hurt one. Or eat one for that matter.

Spitfire...

A had a group of friends that I was very attached to.  There was Steven the little brown bear, a 4 foot long blue snake named snake, a Herman Munster doll named Frank, and a lion hand puppet doll named king that I purchased with cereal tops.  These were my pals...my dawgs so-to-speak.  When I got about 12 my parents decided to make me put them away out of my room, I don't remember why.  They let me keep Steve though.  I had to put all the others in a black plastic garbage bag and put them in the attic, it was a tearful ceremony.  I remember before I left them in the attic I ripped a hole in the bag so they could get air.

When I had my own children they were released from their dark prison and given to them...my kids destroyed them in about two years...there was nothing left of them.  Steve is the only one who remains, he sits high on his own shelf in my room and looks down on me while I sleep.  He is an old raggedy bear now, only has one eye, his fur is missing in places, every now and then when no one is looking  I take him down and hug him.  Don't tell anyone...

Oh you guys...
..all these stories about childhood friends gone astray or traded in! Makin me all weepy! I would love to have "Fatso" my first doll (even though I didn't like dolls much) or "Chico" my first stuffed monkey. He had a rubber banana in his hand! Now that I think of it Chico must have been a girl..she had a skirt on!

I gave my daughter my cherished teddy bear in exchange for hers
when she went to live with her dad. I consider it a good trade.

My '71 telecaster( BTW, I'm still a little kid)
I had to sell my favorite guitar of all time several years ago, thanks to a terrible moment in financial planning. The best axe I may have ever played.

Childhood, I can't remember. Mostly we just played with dirt, pinecones, wildlife, bugs, that sort of thing. Our toys were kinda crappy, now that I think about it.

I can't think of any toy that

I was particularly attached to...but I did own a purple stuffed lelephant myself
