Ah yes that brings back a bunch of memories for me
When the lights went out during a strom or something I always felt peaceful, there something about the rain and darkness that has a calming affect on me, I use to put on a blindfold on and pretend I couldn't see and I would use my sense to feel where I was going. ~Silly

Just think how boring
life would be without these occasional exciting moments. I have one of those rechargable flash lights, because you can never count on a regular flashlight when you need it. When I first moved out here, there were regular power outages, but I guess they've improved things, because now they few and far between. It's always unnerving though when it does go out.

What an experience, Whacky. I'm glad you didn't go running out to fix the wire yourself. LOL I knew a silly man who did and his wife became a widow very quickly.

I hang flsahlights on the kitchen cupboard door. Then I have another on the bedside table. Two in the table in the living room and two more in the basement. That way one has to be operational when I need it.
Also, I have those old kerosene lamps around, with the glass chimneys on them, they are way safer than candles luv.
Also I have samll fire extinguisher in the kitchen on one of the cupboards and one in the basement.
Just some maybe helpful thoughts for ya luv. Blah

Yeah, I always blamed the kids playing manhunt with my flashlights for the
dead batteries, but they haven't played in years!

I keep spare candles, flashlights in a fixed place in the kitchen. Some of my neighbors even have emergency evacuation bags packed.

Whoa Wacky...
..that sounds scary! Sounds like you don't have a fear of the dark..good thing! We are living in the midwest and I'd never been under a tornado watch until moving here four years ago. We were under one the other night and pulled out all our supplies..flashlights, candles, radio, water and chocolate (always need chocolate!)..to take to the basement if the siren sounded. It's happened once before, when I was alone, and I think I flew down the 30 stairs that lead to our basement. Never realized how scary weather can be! Glad you're safe!
