jemmie - a few good ideas there for you!
Like you, I've been away for a bit, am now catching up on reading and seeing what I've missed while I've been away. Take care...

I would suspect
I would suspect that your father already knows exactly what is inside your head or inside the head of others. No need to do the search.

Similar situation
My uncle died in March at age 85, and I was so sad because he had moved to Oregon 4 years ago, and no one there really knew him well. The people he used to know were in Chicago and LA. So the funeral was really small, and so sad. I tried to find people who knew him, but couldn't.
I hope your sadness fades soon, and you can remember your daddy with love and joy.

Hi
There is a place called Intellius that can do good searching. Also, there is a place called Zabasearch (use to be People Data) and they put info on for free. Hope this helps. Lizzy

Jems,
Maybe you can try placing ads in newspapers of the cities that they have moved to. I'm not sure if that would work or not, but it's worth a shot. I think there is also some sort of people finders site that if you pay a monthly fee, (not sure how much, but I don't think it's too much) you get unlimited access to the information. Also, have you tried Classmates.com or Reunion.com if you know your dad went to some of the same schools as the ones you're looking for? Can your stepmom give you some more details to help define the searches? Regardless, I really think your dad knows how much he was loved. Especially by you.
