For the home page, there is no display setting. The issue is that the entire subject line is always shown, which benefits writers with long subject lines. This may change in the future.
If you are referring to the excerpt shown to non-subscribers on the blog page, that may be adjusted by choosing "Change display settings" on your blog's editing page.
