don't worry, Glennb, the thought never crossed my mind. Iraq wasn't a

threat a decade ago, howso could it have become such a monstrous threat in ten years under the vast umbrella of Haliburton guidance.

Saul_Relative,
Call it an unnecessary war! War of opportunity! War for control of Iraq's oil! Line up the reasons! But please exclude a threat to America!

True enough, kingmi, but patriotism and politics don't seem to be the real

problem.  Most people join the military these days to pad their resume, for the stability (present and future) and for the benefits (present and future).  And with the war in Iraq, most don't beleive in the war to begin with, thinking that we shouldn't even be over there, so why join up to get shot at.

And let's face it, our government hasn't been too good to the troops over there either, what with the stop-loss program, the pay screw-ups, the rescinsion of medals of valor, the charging for hospitalization of the wounded, the lack of proper supplying and outfitting (armament), etc....

Sometimes appealing to patriotism just isn't enough...
