Writeroflight,

Yes they did volunteer! So that makes them responsible for your creature comforts! Now we know from where you speak. You people keep saying hate, hate, hate! Why? I do not know George Bush well enough to get an emotional attachment to him! So please stop being an "ass" with this hate thing!

I do know he is a liar! Defined as someone who tells a lie. The American People are very good at judging others! The vetting process is a flawed system in America! We elect our leades based on the "holding of the nose factor"! More people held their nose and voted for George Bush than held their nose and voted for John Kerry.

I am informed enough to know John Kerry was a "hold your nose" candidate for so called liberals!

Welcome, David1Spirit, and good comments!
Guess what? They’re already getting three squares a day! And it says loads about the liberals’ priorities when they hold terrorists innocent without any possible guilt and our own military guilty without any possibility of innocence. Absolutely sickening.
Amdg, your suggestion about mandatory boot camp for senators and representatives is perfectly appropriate, since Senator Doofus (a. k. a. Durbin) while defending his remarks today, said anyone who drives a Hummer should be forced to enlist.
Glenn, I hope that someday you’ll come back into reality from that la-la land you fly off into in your comments here. None of us has any problem with disagreement. But there is a huge gap between honest disagreement and outright hatred. If the liberals simply disagreed, they’d be taking proactive steps towards electoral victory in 2006 and 2008. Instead, all they can think of is how much they hate George W. Bush, and that hatred has contaminated everything they say and do, to the point that they are alienating voters all over the country who want nothing to do with a bunch of hate-filled extremists. And for your information, America has been the biggest target for decades, especially since we started supporting Israel, and Leahy couldn’t give Vice President Cheney the boot because it was in his own mouth with the rest of his foot. But you are right on one point: The draft of years past not withstanding, no one asked our soldiers to lay their lives on the line. They volunteered, pal.

Writeroflight,

You people are sickening! You sit on your fat asses and make excuses for a war criminal! It is people like you that make it necessary for your sons and daughters to serve in the heat of Iraq! You people seem to forget, nobody asked your soldiers to start dying for the liberties you sit on your ass at home to enjoy. Stop complaining everytime someone disagrees with the policy of this clown in office!

George Bush has made Americans the the biggest targets and the biggest threat to Global Peace at the same time! Never been done in my lifetime! You people should be thankful that a few United States Senators have regenerated a pair to try and stop this maniac. If only Senator Leahy had put a boot up Dick Cheney's ass when he had the chance?

Durbin and Leahy
are two peas in a pod. Their ridiculous analogies only serve to make them look like asses. I also think it does no credit to their alleged cause. Prisoners should be treated humanely, certainly. We don't want to become the enemy while trying to defeat him. David1 has it right, though. Prisoners at Gitmo or anywhere else shouldn't receive more preferential treatment than do our troops.

My husband was trained in interrogation procedures in the Marine Corps. When the Abu Ghraib story broke, he laughed. He couldn't believe this was being described as torture. The same with the hullabaloo over Gitmo. The part about the A/C especially amused him. Ever spent a summer in a tent at 29 Palms in the California Dessert? Here's a cure for outrageous liberal hyperbole: Make bootcamp and 2 years service a requirement for all senators and congressmaen. That should shut 'em up.

Keep up the good stuff, WoL, and best wishes and prayers for your son. Thank you both for your sacrifice.

Good post, I wrote one myself on this but did not post it yet
this is a ridiculous statement, one day it is a republican making stupid statements and then the next it is a democrat, I am going to spin myself silly.

If we were like the enemy.....

...we would lop off the heads of captured soldiers! Which is what Pol Pot would do!

Let's make the Sebator real happy. Maybe we should give them warm blankets, 3 square meals, and cake & ice cream for dessert!

Of course then we would be treating the enemy better than we treat our own soldiers families here at home!
