Sorry for any confusion here . . .

. . . but it was fellow senators, particularly Mitch McConnell, who put the heat on Doofus. The news media, aside from a few editorials here and there, seems to think it was just peachy.

Now, as for you, glenn: You're way off base here. No home runs this time. The Nazis were in power approximately 15 years. The gulags lasted about 20. Pol Pot was in power only four years. Hardly "generations." As evidenced by this and the rest of your comment, you're buying into that extremist gibberish that I keep warning people against. Save yourself before it's too late!

Writeroflight,

You exposed yourself in your comments in the last post! Your and the Bush message has grown tired on too many people now! Time to change it! The regimes that you Senator Durbin described lasted generations! It is telling of his ignorance if, what you say is true, he is bowing to media pressure and backing down from his earlier statements.

At the present rate of death and destruction, American involvement in Iraq will rival any genocide in the history of man! Building permanent "outpost of tyranny" in Iraq will allow Bush to have the forward bases and forces needed to kill Iraqis with impunity.

WofL, I'm glad the press held Durbin's feet to the fire.
