it makes sense to me when i think about consequences. what i give to another, i experience. and you're also correct that we must know what is best for us, before we can contribute in a healthy way with others. the highest aspirations are pursuing pleasures of the soul.

"On the road to enlightenment, I just passed a sign that read, "Enlightenment - just ahead". Of course, that is the 4362nd sign like that I've seen. "
Ha Ha!!! I'm awakening slowly as well... and, one day (or so I've read) it won't seem so long, but just an instant... I haven't seen that many signs yet. I think it was the 534th sign I just passed... I can't decide, do you think I should take a right or a left at that intersection?

Thanks. It sometimes takes me awhile to come around, but I usually get there. On the road to enlightenment, I just passed a sign that read, "Enlightenment - just ahead". Of course, that is the 4362nd sign like that I've seen.

this is living consciously and being aware of your actions and what happens in result... this is one of the reasons I stopped eating meat - because, indirectly, I feel responsible for the death of the animal. I know I must eat and must kill something to do that... but what to do? Eat something with less awareness and without a heart, I suppose...
your post is right on - we should be aware of what we say and do and how our actions will cause reactions and do no harm as much as possible.
