oops
"tab" took me to the button instead of the next field, so let's try that again.
George Bush is a coward and a war criminal. Porter Goss is just another croney who deserves to find himself against the wall.
did i write that out loud?
Good stuff.

Thanks, kingmi. I don't know, but I think Orwell was on the right track,
just not as good at predicting that glossing things over with material comforts might work better than merely brainwashing and telling people ad nauseum that their lives are great, their enemies are being defeated, everything is going handsomely, etc. A little of both has worked wonders in promoting the absolute dominance of the state here in the good old land of the free.

twodog: I am not suggesting giving out classified information, nor
anything that would put this nation or its citizens, and especially our troops and intelligence personnel at risk. However, this condescending doublespeak insults my intelligence, as it should anybody and everybody else in this country who don't live in the vacuum of ignorance. Stop blowing smoke up my ass, talking down to me, playing fucking word games, and outright fucking lying. How about a little honesty? How about those moral midgets admitting that they have no clue as to the depth and strength of the insurgency. What the hell would that hurt? This ain't no gradeschool psyche-out. Can't hurt the 1700+ that have already died there for nothing. Can't make the administration look any worse. A little honesty for all of us out here with enough sense not to be sycophantic bobbleheads or droop-shouldered yes-men would probably go a long way. It certainly would with me.
Oh, and the bin Laden deal. They have no fucking clue where he is or he'd be dead (or captured), unless the administration has some conspiracy theorist ulterior motive for keeping him alive, which I sincerely doubt. But they can't admit to not having a clue, then they'd look like their commander-in-chief, Clueless George. Give them that, at least our intelligence community isn't clueless enough to look that stupid, just slick enough to appoint a guy like Goss, who looks and sounds like a second-rate politician fronting for people who may or may not know what the hell they're doing, and whatever it is they're doing might or might not be justified before the interview is over. But it will damn sure look and sound like it.
Sort of. Maybe. Almost. Without a fucking doubt.

Saul_Relative, knowing what I know today about western civilization I
think I can safely say that Orwell hadn't a clue! Great blog today, my friend!

Saul, it is just smoke, they have to feed us mushrooms in the dark
bullshit. Of course twodog-night we know he is not going to say for security reasons but that is no the point.
Lets See;
"Mission Accomplished",
"We know he has weapons of mass destruction",
"We invaded for a regime change"
"OK, we know he had materials to make WMD"
"We invaded to give them a democracy"
"Uh, he had plans to make WMD"
"The insurgency is in the last throes",
"We know where Osam bin-forgotten is",

Saul, Son, What Have You Been Smoking?
Of couse the Director Of Central Intelligence used double talk to answer questions that require a violation of classified information. If your proposition, he should answer all questions regardless the impact, was followed, intelligence sources would dry up before his last answer was broadcast to the world. We do not live in a vacume, world wide satillite news broadcast the words of our leaders, not only to this nation, but to our enemies as well. Wake up, Saul, do you really want our enemies to know all our business???
