It seems that Rednecks in the North versus the South are looked upon differently. I agree what I have seen of what one calls a redneck in the south involves something I would choose to avoid at all cost. Here, in general it is the blue collar working person.

Thank you for the kind words. Actually, I lived in the south and I do know exactly the kind of ignorant individuals you speak of. I was raised by the very same kind of people...guess I always rocked the boat because I wanted an explaination for WHY people were supposedly different. I am still waiting for that answer as more often than not I was blown off as if I never asked anything (easier than facing the answers I suppose).
I can only pray that with each generation we all make an effort not to raise our children with the same kind of ignorance.

I don't consider myself redneck (living in Texas, I try to distance myself from that term) but I agreed with an awful lot of what you said! But I actually like Hillary.

I don't know if you've ever been to the south, but the term "redneck" can be derogatory. Think of all the in-bred, ignorant, hick stereotypes and such. Of course whether or not someone should be offended depends on who's saying and their meaning. Think about the infamous N-word and how it's often used. Regardless of whether or not it's politically correct, living in Memphis, Tennesse means I've encountered my fair share of the "bad rednecks," and believe me, you are
not one of them, and that's a good thing.
