- Go to Devotion to "God"
to paraphrase I John
if you cannot love the things around that you can see,
how can you love god whom you can't see?

Metta -
Thanks, glad to be back. Though going from 92 degrees and 92% humidity to 115 degrees and 50% humidity really isn't much of an improvement.
I think you're right that it may be easier for some to love "God" then everything else. I also agree that devotion to "God" wil lead to devotion to everything. But for those who don't get immediate results taking that path, here is another.

and on further pondering...
devotion to Everything, may also lead to the devotion of God... the beginning with love for God, to me, just seems like an easier path

so good to see you back
I have missed your posts greatly -
now... devotion to God leads to devotion to Everything... the closer one comes to God the more one finds God in the most unexpected places, the closer one comes to God the more one realizes that nothing can be separated from God and being devoted to God means being devoted to everything - from the smallest ant (or smaller) to the entire universe - infinitely devoted to All...
this keyboard is part of God, these fingers that type this comment, this house...
can you say that a spot on the wall is not part of the wall, or the wall is not part of the house and the house is not part of the street and the street is not part of the town... etc. the spot holds the universe within it -
ah, you know where I'm going with this... good to see you
