Holy cow, sounds gorgeous.
I'm afraid I haven't "stumbled" across a crystal as of yet because I'd be like a small child with a gun. "Hey, hey, there little one. Don't go waving that thing around like that." :-D

Cynthia, that's my museum you're talkin' about!
I practically grew up there! The first time I saw the rocks and minerals hall, it was just a long room with lots of long glass cases and overhead lighting... Yes, it did get better! Do you remember when the Star of India was stolen?

Ciel, Have you ever
visited the mineral collection at the American mouseum of Natural History in New York? It's one of my favorite places in the museum. I love the way they have these incredible hunks of minerals displayed.

And sometimes we need to learn from experience...
the dream gave me the experience I was needing to get the point!

that's interesting, Ciel
when we see the other side of the coin, as it were, to our actions, it really opens us to what we are really up to. thanks.

Oceandancer, I found one once, in the midst of a stream I was walking in...
not just a huge quartz crystal, but one clearly not native to the area... It didn't occur to me until later that it might have been put there on purpose. To my mind, rocks are for finding...

But there is another place, a particular hillside in Arizona, that is packed with crystals!

Mmm, can't say as how I think we have the garnets.
Doesn't mean we don't. The area is really known for its amethyst.
And here here where I am, there's lots of great raw quartz. Now if only I could stumble on a big quartz crystal, hey? :-)

Sannhet, you will note I have not tried it again!
But maybe now and then, I should...

Ciel -
Whether it was the stones, your mattress, or a cat licking your toe, all that matters is the lesson was presented and you were ready to receive. But it sure is coincidental if it wasn't the stones. And of course, for some there are no coincidences.

Niiiice!
I love stones, too. I think they're subtle. Not for everyone. I can't carry a certain kind (I think it was epidot...? though I may be okay now) because it's such a strong clearer I get a total headache.
We are rich with amethyst around here. Love it. I think it's why I live around here. It's a joyful laughing stone.

I've always hated Amethyst, because...
it's my younger brother's "birth stone". I had never heard of the other crystals you mention (besides Amber). I'll have to look into them ... Rose Quartz sounds especially pretty.
