jemmie,
we must persevere...we must go on...what choice do we have? Well, we do have two choices, but if we choose "life" then we must find ways to go on through whatever pain comes.

I remember that post well--in fact, I almost used that analogy...but it kinda felt like stealing...since it wasn't my own I decided not to use it. But I love it!!

Hi Quirkyalone,
You seem such a nice person. The kind that is real and true. One who would be a valuable friend, trustworthy and caring. Life has made you that way, with its hurt and pain, you are so special....... I send you my blessings! Do enjoy the good things life has to offer Quirkyalone, for you have had over your share of hurt.

"A LOT" is so true
Nearly every day my heart hurts both physically and figuratively, and yet, somehow, I go on.

Wonderful post. I wrote a post once using the analogy of the heart being like a rubberband and I think that was an apt one....even when it breaks, we don't lose bits and pieces of it. With time and perspective, we are back on our feet. We grow weary from hurting..but, such is life...the ups and the downs..the good and the bad...sure beats the alternative!

Seems like pain is one of life's requirements. Good thing we usually don't all have it at the same time.

Q-A, I just think I'm going to make an effort to disregard the past and
procede to the future. I think aging can be glorious, if we have the right attitude.

but which is a preferred option--to close yourself off and never trust...or take a leap of faith and trust again? Pain is always a possibility...but speaking as one who has--her whole life--walled herself off from everyone to try to avoid pain, I actually think THAT is more painful than trusting and being hurt.

Yes, I think the heart does heal. Will the memory of the pain always hurt a little? Probably...but the heart goes on, as it must.

heartache
Does it heal after so many times of being stepped on, tossed and smashed against your chest. It makes it even harder to restore with the love and trust again.

Quirky, The Bible says that I can endure all things through Christ because he strengthens me. I have found that to be true. But, there are many people in this world, I guess the majority actually, who do not believe or accept this teaching about Jesus and have to go it alone when pain/hurt/loss occurs. This is sad indeed, but it is amazing what the human heart can endure whether or not one is a believer in God.
