hehe I think I like Pat_B's comment best...
It can be similar to being sewn into a bag with something with claws though....then drowning...

Nowadays all we have is marriage. But I'm not bitter.

Oh, thank you.
Btw, I always felt the Manson family received a "bad rap". Nobody ever talks about all the good things they did.
A few acts of "youthful indiscretion" should not define one's entire existance.

OUCH!
I don't like any of them, but the slow, pincher-done death-by-skinning certainly sounds the worst!
We are supposed to be the most advanced of any species, and, yet, we use our intellect to come up with atrocities such as this!
Even The Manson Family and Jeffrey Dahmer weren't THAT brutal!
Thanks for sharing this.
It shows us that, even though some things need to change, today's legal system is certainly better than what was offered in the olden days!
Kudos!

It's funny that nobody really mentioned "The Burning Man"...
Imagine being the person whose job it was to "pluck people's skin off with red hot pinchers"? That would be, like, so weird!

Drawn and quartered....
Now that's a truly gruesome way to die. Somehow I doubt they got popped into quarters. It's more likely that the limbs got torn off....Wonder how long it took the victims to bleed to death.

All because death is too brief and absolute to extract any satisfaction.

The last was better than what they did in Shakespeare's day.
Being drawn and quartered started with being drawn on a sawhorse, I think. Then they tied you to a stake, took your intestines out of your belly and wound them around you. This was done to four priests by Henry VIII when he was taking over the Church of England. You were hung and then your head and body severed into five pieces. Head on London bridge, with the four quarters sent to four different towns. That was before the government saw that Catholics were taking pieces as relics. The government then had to burn all the pieces, other than the head....

For real, mmm-w.
BTW, I have a whole "rotation" (of columns) in mind ... because, otherwise, I fear death may (over time) start to grow a little stale.

I wish they would bring back the "Sack Death" ...
Although, I hear it may still be used occasionally in Arkansas.

The Sack Death
brings new light to the modern term "getting sacked" in reference to losing one's job, doesn't it?

No, I won't be posting any gruesome pictures, UH...
Partly, so as not to catch any unsuspecting, rather squeamish individuals "off guard".
And, also, because I'm a total retard when it comes to computers.

Society has come a long way since then, Vane.
Although, when I was briefly a film critic, I was forced to sit through "Baby Geniuses 2: The Super Babies" ... and, let me tell you,
as tortures go, that would rank "right up there" with any of them.

madame po
Actially it was known as peine forte et dieu, and was inflicted upon anyone refusing to plead, either guilty or not guilty ; " Mute of Malice" as it was known.
It was carried out in London in the Press Yard of Newgate Prison

Yeah, mcbreeze, most people don't realize how dangerous...
farm fowl can be. For instance, pound for pound, turkeys are among the most deadliest killers in the entire animal kingdom.
