No. No sign.
But, I do need a license to keep them.

Do you put up a sign outside your home on "Warning - Venomous Pets Inside"? ;)
Click 3.
See you for the next round. Thanks for your time in participation.
Ben.

I'm hoping to add pictures of Rapunzel, Snow White, Stock, etc.
(plus, maybe even a few crickets and darkling beetles) very soon.

Thank you.
Though, much as it pains me to do so, I must give credit to my mother for the photos. It's not like my "children" were willing to pose for the pics.

They sure do!
The centipede is considered a "master of escape", too. But, so far we've only had two incidents ... both involving a cricket "prison break".
Even, if anyone did manage to get loose ... I have a pretty good rapport with all of them (and handle them frequently).

Madame,
This confirms what I knew before - you're strange.
I could "live" - as I use this term very loosely here - with all of those, except for that centipede! Don't the people in your house live in fear of these critters escaping?

Thank you. I'm going to write the MO Conservation Commission and ask them to support their info or change it.

No way any tarantula would be that big!
Especially not in the states.
The largest species is the "Goliath Bird-eater" which is roughly the size of a dinner plate (from toe tip to toe tip). Those are only native to South American jungles, however.

Madam_P.O. Since you seem to be an authority on tarantulas, could you please help me out here. I looked up Missouri Tarantulas on the internet to see if they had a pic that looked like the one that I had a run in with. The article was by the Missouri Conservation Commission (who you would think would know what they are talking about). They said that an average size for a MO tarantula was 40 to 50 mm. That would be around 20 inches long. My son says "No Way!" Do you know of anything that big?

They're really nothing to be afraid of, Marshallengraved...
unless, of course, you happen to be a cricket or a mouse.

Thank you very much, ltlmac70.
As most of you have likely already noticed ... they're all named after fairy tale/Disney movie characters.
Btw, ltlmac70, I think Frollo probably would have clogged your toilet.

Very Cool...
That third bug looks like something I flushed down the toilet this morning! ACK! Just kidding, of course. Anyone who can keep pets like those has got nerves of steel in my book. I could NOT get past the Eeek Factor! Great names too...

Also, I corrected a dumb mistake I just noticed...
Rose Red is, naturally, a "Rose Hair" (not a "Pink Toe") ... at some point, I'll put up a pic of my actual "Pink Toe" (Rapunzel).

Ya. They truly are ferocious predators.
I'm sure everyone is aware what the females do to the males after sex. (Which is fairly common in the arachnid/insect world, btw.)

Very cool, especially, Cinderella. Manti are revered in China for their ferocity and fearlessness. In fact, there's an entire discipline of Chinese martial arts which evolved after a monk witnessed a mantis and a much larger cicada engaged in battle. Needles to say, the mantis won.

Trust me, if you can get past the "eek factor"...
they make wonderful pets. Warm, gentle, loving (and
very clean) companions. Plus, they are terrific "conversation starters".
After all, "Would you like to come up and see my scorpions?" is a hard offer to resist.

Very interesting, MadamP.O. Makes me want to write a post telling about my run in with a Missouri Tarantula. It looked like your pink one only it was brown. And, all I had for defense was a broom.

something).

You know what?
Image Shack is so fucking lame! I'll "clean up" the links momentarily. But, I wanted people to be able to see my "babies" (via thumbnail) without having to get "up close and personal" if they didn't want to.
P.S. If that witch had allowed me to use her web space ... this would have been alot simpler!
