Quirks,
My Gawd, I really don't know what the hell is wrong with people or how they sleep at night after doing such horrid things. I agree, karma does play a part. It will most certainly bite them in the keester one day. However, we can only HOPE they realize WHY it happened to them!

boopster--

I think she's convinced now...so it was a $50 lesson.

You could get one of those slats in the door, like a drop box.

Then again, little pranksters can put all sorts of crap in there.

Best bet is to convince your mom that after this episode, sending cash is not a wise option.

aaww

well, happy birthday to you  Quirky!

(As for the $ - for sure, some day life will bring an event to the theif and it will immediately be clear in their heart that it was because of this. Aside from that, a weight has been added for their conscience to have to bear.)

Yes, Instant Karma's gonna get Them....I hope you find that $50.  I think I'll turn Buddhist. Come on, let's go find Richard Gere....

This really sucks, quirky--
I've never had a letter broken into, but I foolishly left my garage door open a few years ago, and when I returned, my nice mountain bicycle and inflatable boat were gone. This is too bad for your mother too. Hemlocker

I plan to go to the post office tomorrow to file a complaint...for that very reason, that perhaps others have also complained, or will in the future, and they can put "two and two together."

I truly believe that...even if we aren't "conscious" of these things...they still exist. You can't get away with stuff like that without consequences.

I had similar revenge fantasies--one of them choking on food they bought with MY money!

posted by Julia. on August 21, 2005 at 2:13 PM | link to this | reply

You know, Quirky , it won't get your money back, but I bet that if you
contact the post office where your mom dropped the letter you could at least file a claim notifying U.S.P.S. that there is a thief somewhere in the chain. I am sure that with scheduling, time sheets, etc. they could at least narrow down the security breach. It could be that they have had other complaints. This of course will require YOUR time and effort, but may prove worthwhile.

I think most theives do not have a conscience at all!

Quirky, Happy Birthday...that was really a lousy thing for someone to do.

i was thinking about that today. what looks like things we get away with here are things we must answer for in our conscience sooner or later. nothing gets by our judgment of ourselves and the choices we make.
