so many paths -
I was reading today about a Saint who refused to smell a rose for fear that she would forget God for a moment... and then there was Saint Francis who planted a garden at a church so people would feel closer to God there...
yes, the key is detachment - I have been thinking about this a lot lately and was glad to read your post.

I absolutely agree that this world is just the illusion because we could never behold the infinite through the finite. Only our spiritual senses are receptive to reality. The physical senses only recognize the counterfeit of reality. I really do feel detatched from this world, but its not sad at all. I know that far more beautiful things await us. Thankyou for your thoughts.
