It does take great energy to write a good blog. Sometimes I succeed, I think, and sometimes I don't. I feel cheated when I read someone else's blog that has a great title, but fizzles out after that. I'd rather people (including me) would not write if they have nothing worth saying.

MayB, I think I don't care to present my best energies before the pig stomping, ill-witted swine of any community... hence, my ridicuously stupid fictional short shorts...

MayB--
short, sweet and to the point...what is it about this place that periodically degenerates into a full-out drunken brawl??

The pile on effect isn't unique
to Blogit, MayB. I'm sure you've been on the internet about the same amount of time that I've been. . , frequented many different chat communities, and know the pile-on junk is not unique to Blogit. In fact, it's very commonplace to most chat communities.

It does take quite a bit of energy and thought to create something
worthwhile.

I can't put it any better than Dave Cryer did down there, so I'll settle for telling you how I enjoyed this phrase:
You know those movie scenes when someone says something which doesn't fit in with the culture (and I use the term lightly) and then one person huffs and puffs and then turns and raises an eyebrow to a mate and then they all pile in on top of one another ........
The whole nasty business sewn up neatly in lace....

It takes energy too, concentrated energy, to observe and appreciate the work that's gone into that small piece of lace. The brawlers will never see it.

Sometimes intricacy will create the tiniest piece of lace and there it will lay on a vast sideboard until someone stops a while, takes stock and studies. You can only do this if you have left the brawl and taken refuge as a seeming wallflower at the side of the bar. Wallflowers grow strong and tall.
