Sweet Tea
Yes, Annie actually lived in Llano, where the river flows right through the the middle of town and where Mama lives. Enchanted Rock is off of 16 which is the road I take when I drive to Fredricksburg from Llano, and I've never actually taken off to go look at it! I can see if from the highway, but just haven't gone up on it to see the basin and the views and all that....it's crazy all the things that a person will not go see when they live in the very area....I've never been to the Truman Library in Independence, either! Anyway, glad you enjoyed the post.....I'm going to dig up some more of these.....the area is full of this stuff.

This is a great story. Sad though. I can only imagine what that part of the country must have been like back then. Do you suppose Annie ever got to see the river?
I really liked this post DC~~

Thank you! So glad you enjoyed....I had an Annie Oakley outfit as a child, so I love this sort of thing, too. I'll dig up some others for you and post.

Glad you enjoyed....and that you'll finish it. I love driving these hills, and am just beginning to get into the historyh of the area, since I didn't grow up around here or ever live around here before.
