I'm with you. Paradox is a logical choice for learning.

"what you do for the least of these, you do for Me" - Jesus

I can think of nothing better than living as if only you and God exist... not ignoring duties - but seeing all as God - then there is no dilemma - only One Master...

What you think about, you see.... so if one's mind is on God, he is serving God - because it is all you see...

(boy, that sounds good doesn't it?  smile... I'm working on it... in the words of George Harrison:

My sweet lord
Hm, my lord
Hm, my lord

I really want to see you
Really want to be with you
Really want to see you lord
But it takes so long, my lord

My sweet lord
Hm, my lord
Hm, my lord

I really want to know you
Really want to go with you
Really want to show you lord
That it won't take long, my lord (hallelujah)

it is true, what you said. but what Thomas Merton said is true, too. i think the more we think in paradox, the deeper the understanding.

Often I dream about what it would be like to walk down the street
and witness everyone serving and respecting one another. I imagine it as kind of wakefulness, as if the skin which grown over from narrow-sightedness, self-interest and ignorance had cracked and a wonderful light had begun to come through that crack. This is the light of human consciousness, of humility, of people really being aware of one another and their responsibility toward helping them. Thank you.

You're absolutely right. Serving others does serve "God".

Sannhet,
Actually, to my way of thinking, serving God is of the utmost importance and, since He is in all of us, serving each other is part of serving God.
