Beware, Quirky, I wouldn't trust pogo.com....it IS addicting.  LOL.

Yeah, I've thought of that comparison too. Mostly in relation to homework.

Don't think I've ever run across that game Quirky
But you're right, life is like that; seems as if I'm whacking most of the time, lol.

Well, I'm not even going to ask where you got the picture of the mole making the hole in the donut...

I usually feel more like this!  Mouse On Wheel Stop! I want to get off!

hmmm... or is that guacamole....

Quirky
Why do I suddenly desire a bowl of chips and guacalmole?

posted by Lensman on September 15, 2005 at 10:36 PM | link to this | reply

whack that mole
I want that donut.  About those moles. Maybe we put there , before we got here.   So they'd be here when we did get here. So we'd have some way of keeping up with where we been. Hmmm.

>8-| WELL... YES.... but lets put it this way.... at least it ain't as bad

as whack a rabbit. (for some... it's probably more like 'whackin' off')

Quirky...
Some days I'm the mole, other days the one wielding the club...hopefully it balances out at the end of the day.  Never thought about it like that before.  Do know that game does ease many a frustration.

Quirkyalone....
Cat 8 I whacked one in my dream last night and woke up feeling good about it until I realized that it was a dream and the nasty little mole poked its head up again. Gonna get that mole.. I swear I'm gonna get it

Interesting metaphor
It might put a different spin on it to look at each mole whacked as a goal achieved--rather than a problems solved.

Too many to count.....

Quirkyalone, did you ever feel that you were one of the moles that were being whacked and that no matter which hole you popped up in someone or some thing was ready to whack you back down?

posted by TAPS. on September 15, 2005 at 12:20 PM | link to this | reply

is wack...
the same slang term as whack?

Wack a mole...or is that wacky mole?

Does give me something to think about.  I've wacked quite a few moles in my time, but I certainly hope my life has more to it than that.  Lately it DOES seem that I've been running around, wacking the first mole I get a chance to wack...maybe that's why I'm going in circles?  I think I'd better go & read your other blog to get my head back where it should be...OFF of wacking moles & back to my center of peace & tranquility.

Great post...LOVE   that moving mole graphic!!!

Haven't whacked any moles lately

but the dang oppossum that thinks my back porch is his new home might find himself in danger soon.

BTW, I miss you too.  I'll be back next week again.

It's a bit like that in class sometimes.

Quirks... I don't think it was the mole part that bothered him... not as
much as threatening to "bop" him on the head... which I did almost daily (threaten, not bop).  LOL

Great post, Quirky....
I play that game  on pogo.com. and it's fun, but you are right.  How sad it is!

I used to refer to one of my coworkers with that game...
He was always popping his head up to see what I was doing.  Whack a mole was him.  Just wish I had a big mallet to hit him with.

Masky--
Whacking the moles is rather therapeutic isn't it? lol.

posted by Julia. on September 15, 2005 at 9:13 AM | link to this | reply

Damn! I found that to be eerily autobiographical.

posted by strat on September 15, 2005 at 9:11 AM | link to this | reply

I never thought of it like that before but I think you're on to something. By the way, the animated mole was cute!

posted by jojostar on September 15, 2005 at 9:03 AM | link to this | reply

LMAO...never thought of life as such, but how appropriate.

When I go to the arcade we my kids, we always place this game.  I must admit, the padded hammer feels good when it hits the head of one of those plastic buggers.

medusa--
It would be sad if that is all one manages to do in a life, to go from whacking one mole to the other with no pleasures and joys in-between.

cosy--
lol--thanks for commenting!! I think you meant "moley" not "molly"--hehe--though I am sure there are a lot of holy molly's in this world.

Great post, Quirky...I had never seen that carnival game, but....
you so cleverly described this game of life and how caught up we can become, until we can no longer wield the big hammer to knock more heads down. How true and sometimes, how sad, if that's all we manage to do.

Wholly-molly! A milion and one!
Great metaphor girly!
