Yeah, I'm a WWII survivor. Born in 34, I remember the FDR speach and the bomb that ended it all. Always thought that exploding it out in the ocean would have served just as well but I think Truman was too pissed off for that. Indeed it was a question as to your health, wealth, life in the Basque country, and all else besides.
Life here is ... well, this is Spain, innit? There is a timeless, ageless quality to life here, and I'm sure that on some nights, I can hear the Roman legions marching in the sierras above our house, and see the sparks of their hobnailed sandals in the night. Hear too the dismal chanting of the penitents on their way to the stake.
Sorry, just waxing lyrical and poetic because I love Spain,and our Spanish neighbours so much. But I guess it's a lot more politically divisive where you live?
