Krisles....
Yikes, diabetes? We let you out of our sight for a couple of days and this happens. You do like to lead an interesting life, don't you? And I'm not trying to be funny there. Watch out for that thing. Follow
all the rules and you'll be okay. The last place I lived, my neighbour was diabetic and I got a pretty good look at how it goes. He had a little kit attached to his belt wherever he went. It contained needles and insulin, spring-loaded or power-injected, or something. Whenever some of us hit a restaurant, he used to take a quick injection before the meal arrived. Somehow that kept everything on the straight and narrow. Anyway, good thing you were near a hospital when this all started happening. Take care and congratulations on your new granddaughter. Eight-plus pounds -- sounds like a fat one!

Lila is a most beautiful name..God bless your family...I just figured you were caught up in all your new work schedule and would return here with a few crazy tales....You take care of your health. Diabetes? Heck, you slow down there, Krisles...Put Krisles first...I know, easy to say. We're saving your space here, haha...I still have issues, haha..Some things never change....

Thanks for checking on me.....I'm sitting in a Holiday Inn lobby in Weatherford...first time I've been online in days. Michele had Lila 9/26 at 4:32pm with me at my ususal post (holding her left foot) - she came in at 8lbs 2oz and 20 1/2 " and is beautiful. Then, I was back up at the same hospital at 10:30pm feeling like I was going to die any minute and discovered I have diabetes and was close to going into a coma! This was not part of the planned trip! Sooooooooo......just another exciting chapter in my saga.....I seem incapable of doing anything without some kind of drama! And now I have all kinds of details and obstacles to manage and workout that have fallen into what I had planned....but I do love to problem-solve....and this is a big one....so I've switched into super woman mode - but, since I really do feel like absolute shit, that's proving challenging! Anyway, more later......

Hey, Krisles...
Where'd you disappear to again? I thought it was kind of quiet around here for some reason. I knew you were going to be doing some work, but.....are we chopped liver now? Haha

Thank you....she almost came swinging out of that photo....you're right, it was more like a moving picture than a still. I've been very busy and it's been hard to get online. I bought a car, have been back to the chiro, other appointments.....lots and lots of stuff going on ....I still have my old car in Austin that I have to figure out how to get her....husband has finally decided he wants to be there for Lila's birth so I have to figure out how to get him there with Rita coming and he won't drive....I've probalby got his sister and her husband coming here to flee Rita....still getting ready to leave for the job I'm going to do.....is your shoulder getting wet from my crying?

Another grand description of people and places. You really do bring them to life. Here's an example of what I mean: "My favorite photo was of her in a swing, coming at the camera, laughing joyously, long hair whipping around so that some of it caught in her mouth, eyes merry, hand gripping the chains at her sides…." When I read that, I had the impression of watching it rather than reading it. And not a still photo -- more like watching film. I think it was the forward movement and the hair whipping sideways. They combined in a sort of 3-D way in my mind. Really cool. You've been away for a few days, eh?

Hammock!
I am so very glad to see you back! I've missed you.....but you've got to quit punching people's faces....of course, I assume you have. Where've you been? Flying a lot? Did you see that Susie has a plane....can you imagine how much we were talkin' about flying before I saw the giraffe's?! This was the sort of cliff to just soar off of....or over....

Thank you! It was such a wonderful visit and I really liked her a lot.....I've wanted to try my hand at potting, but can't throw because of the plate on my wrist...a lot of the pieces on her site aren't my taste, but the ones she had in her gallery I loved, and she's got some kind of like them on her site shadetreepotter.com if you want to get an idea...the ones with the imprints of flower pods, etc. I love people and like getting to know them, so I'm never shy!

You spoil me so! I still haven't started a manuscript.....but I guess I can make copies of all this stuff if I ever get ambitious and figure out what to do with this stuff? I'm love that you enjoy my meanderings since I love yours, too.....Susan's son is a musician and lives over her garage....brings all his buddies out there and they sit out on the cliff and jam out over the river....can you just imagine?!

Excellent writing. And I admire how friendly you are and can strike up a friendship so easily. Cool story. I ended up like this rancher's wife, too. And admire her way of looking ahead.

Been catching up with you. I've said it before; I'll say it again -- your power of description and ability to draw me wherever you're going is incredible.
You better be putting together a manuscript, woman!
