I agree with you. This is a very dangerous place. Imagine if some of the talented bloggers on Blogit dedicated the same amount of time they use with Blogit toward writing a book or something. Can you imagine the number of writers you would read about who mentioned they once blogged on a little place called Blogit??

It is the human need for approval
that drives many of us in this blogging addiction

Maybe it's denial, but...

I still see it as a good thing...creative types are often more loners, so it's good to get inspired, and reach out to other like minded people.  You get to know these guys.  I'll shoot an email if I haven't seen a post from someone, just to make sure all is well.

I guess I'm still pretty new though...I know my boyfriend is constantly giving me a hard time about the time spent...so he goes and checks out ebay.  We all have our addictions, blogging is a bit easier on my system than the others.

Thanks for the post.

Mayb...I primarily blog from work. We are in the midst of our "slow time"
so with nothing else to do I get on here.  Though I must admit, when a customer DOES finally walk in the door...I get a little PO'd that my blog time has been interrupted.  I am pathetic...BUT I ADMIT IT.

I'm worried...
... my boss is now trying to get me to do some work. This will totally cut into my blogging time. I told him that. He didn't seem to care. He did recommend counseling through the EAP. That kind of pissed me off. Is that bad?

True confessions... after some time blogging, I lost both the time and taste to read anything but the classics... but to get REALLY honest... I'm not reading shit.  Except the Bible - of course... Jesus was bummed out today... his cousin John the Baptist lost his head to one wicked woman... he still found time to heal the sick... Jesus, that is... so far as my outrageous Fiction At Its Finest... I've kind of bowed of that for awhile... writer's block I suppose... Take care, I like your posts... Carolyn.

MsVision, the benefits were greater for me when I needed to get back into writing. After a while that reason has become less significant. Well done on keeping a tight control of the situation and recognizing that restraint is not always easy

Blogging is helping me to write. Before I discovered blogging writing was such a lonely process I couldn't commit to doing it regularly. At the start it was addictive and I missed out on some sleep. Now I'm very disciplined about my writing time and my blogging time and my bed time! Its still very hard to sign off sometimes.

I tend to agree that blogging can be addictive.

MayB,
What is scary for me is that I haven't found time to edit my stories for submission, but I find time to blog.

jojostar, it is very tempting for me to pop in when I'm grading although I'm not sure this is always the answer when my mind has been number

I LICK PEANUT BUTTER OFF OF OTHER WOMENS' NIPPLES!
So are you saying a post like that would be a cry for attention, and thus a symptom of some sort of addiction?  Interesting...  Very interesting...

Slagging is a good one Dave Cryer
I was thinking of doing a post littered with the alternatives

Spellcheck alternative offerings for 'blogging':

bragging, blagging, gagging, hogging, slogging, rigging, wagging, shagging, slagging, snagging, dragging, flagging, mugging, digging, bugging, fogging, bagging, begging, bigging

oh

and

hugging

I was thinking similar thoughts today
I've pretty much been logged on here all day. I'll walk away for a little bit but always have to come back. It's really sad.
