Ma Soom

Re you comment on my poem : I am aware of the theological position vis a vis Jews, Muslims and Christians.

If, as some state, Allah adjures his followers to slay adherents ofother religions, then he may truly be said to  be a god of hate. My knowledge of the Quran does not permit me to make a judegement on this

If, on the other hand, Allah  forbids it, people who are allegedly Muslims who do slay other people can justly be called worshippers of a god of hate. Not the Allah who forbade their action, but a false god of hate of their own devising.

This is in no way an attack upon Islam, for I shall shortly be posting a series of pieces about the Spanish Inquisition, in which I state clearly my conviction that these cruel and merciless men had so far departed from the teachings of the gentle, compassionate Jesus that they had invented a god of hatred.

Their form of worship of their god of hate was to torture, maim and burn to death thousands of their fellow humans. Was theirs not as much a god of hate as that of those Muslims who plant bombs that shred the bodies of men women and children?

Perhaps you can inform me if in fact Allah does, or does sanction the slaying of Jews and Christians

god of hate
I hope that by your comment "your god is a god of hate" you did not mean to imply that Muslims serve a god that is different from the one and only God that exists.  The God that created the universe, Adam and Eve and all the prophets and human beings.  Many people are confused about this point and do not understand that Jews Christians and Muslims all worhips the same God and follow the same line of revelations.  The basic differences being that Jews accept the prophets up to Jesus Christ, which most of them do not accept as the Messiah. Christians accept Christ as the Messiah but do not know about or accept the Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) as the last prophet.  Muslims accept all the prophets including Christ as the Messiah and are awaiting His return before the day of judgement.

Cosy,

Thank you for your comment.

I was so appalled and outraged at the Madrid bombings that that poem almost wrote itself. I have had it translated into Spanish as well

Masky

Many thanks for your comment. And thank you alos for complimenting me on my spirit.

Altho' I am an atheist, my life is governed by Christian principles, and I take pleasure in expressing my beliefs, and my outrage at the injustices of this world in my writing. For this is the only way that there will ever be peace and reconciliation in the world.

It's ironic, really ... an atheist apostle of Christianity

I have just read your excellent poem written after the madrid bombing. Yours is just a naration and presentation of the truth in a clean poetic manner, hence I don't think any right thinking person will call you names.
Well done.
