I thought it was pretty common knowledge they used Box Cutters.

box cutters were the first thing that came to my mind

And the weapons...
That were used against the hijackers on the plane that crashed into the field were fire extenguishers, the serving carts and cutlery from the galley.  Things we all should remember as we strive to rip open our bags of peanuts.

Box Cutters Is Right

There was one girl I talked to who thought it was guns.  She was so angry about how guns could have made it past security.  When I told her it wasn't guns, she was stunned.  All these years she had been angry over something that wasn't even true.

What is our world coming to?  How could people not know this?

I'm sorry--but I think whoever did not know the answer to this has been living under a rock or on Fiji...either that or they never watch tv, read the paper, fly in a plane or talk to other people.

It's true, it's not well known...
I had to stop and think for a minute, but did recall the box cutters.  Such a sad, sad day.  My parents are no longer allowed to travel anywhere without letting me know.  I found them the following Saturday, when they got home from visiting DC.

Can you imagine all the combined horror and terror experienced that day?  Hatred shook the entire world.  So sad.  Most people suck.  I heard those sucky terrorists used box cutters and employed shameless horror tactics like the true cowards that they are.

I'm suicidal, but maybe I won't be anymore.  Now that I think about it why would I want to even associate with the idea?  I mean look at those who use it for terror.  It is evil.  It is bad.  It is crazy.  It is ubiquitous.  A sad truth.  What's the deal with all the haters anyway?

Jemmie211-- to our understanding, the weapons used were box cutters

simular to the picture below and pepper spray which were both easily smuggled onto airplanes back then.

Jemmie211,
That day I will never, ever forget.  So much sadness.  An American nightmare to me.  I was at work, walking the halls and saw the plane crash into the tower as I passed by the dayroom in the nursing home on a TV. mounted up high.  I was so shocked and scared for the lives of the people. I believe the weapons used were box cutter knives.  I will forever feel grief for those that lost their loved ones that day.

Funny, I guess I don't really know. I haven't thought about it.

To my knowledge they used the flatware from the snack trays....but then again, what would any of us know? Knowing what really happened would only add injury to insult
