Yip, I agree - This happens all the time. Watch the groceries as well. My keys and groceries bond on the way home so I often find that the keys visit the groceries in the fridge.

I'm totally horrible about losing items that I use all the time!!
I find myself hunting for lighters, remote controls, ink pens, and can openers quite often.
