Quirk
It's so true...I hate to see how low people actually go to get their means...I would definitely loose out there. And yes, you are right, our moral standards, principles, and our word is all we have...and to loose that even in a game...does speak alot about their character.
Quirk, how are you? I hope you are feeling much much better!!!!!!
Many hugs~

Quirky...nicely put! I'm afraid I wouldn't make it very far on survivor.
I wouldn't mind eating fried coconut or grilled fish or fresh fruit, but some of the bugs and junk - no way - ho-say. And, having to manipulate, lie, cheat: sorry, I'd be out in the first round, cuz' I'd be pointing fingers or cracking under the pressure. At least on blogit, when this crap happens, you can avoid going to those places. On the show, it would be to "in your face."

>:-} the real joke, by the time they pay their taxes and who knows whatelse
what do they
really get out of it??!! Agreed it is a good show, i sure do enjoy it, but it seems pretty foolish, all those people get eliminated, they have their lives and characters on display, make fools of themselves for our entertainment... and for what?

Hi quirky...If u watch Survivor...you have to commit to all episodes...
I haven't watched the last 2 survivor shows. I loved it in its infancy. With reality shows, I get bored a couple of years after they are on. They seem to run their course. But the whole idea of the show is quite brilliant. I just don't feel like committing to it all over again.....This was quite enjoyable, this post...

I think Survivor is real in the sense ...
that if you actually had to survive without today's modern conveniences, like electricity and supermarkets. how long would most people last? Not very long. Plus, it's always a pleasure to see hot chicks in skimpy clothes.

Lying, cheating, and scheming to win a game?
Now, I never break a game's rules, because then it's not a game, it's an exercise in making yourself appear superior to everyone else... but if lying, cheating and scheming can be part of a game,
! I mean, have you ever played Cheat, or an RPG when you played a filthy tramp? That is so damn fun. Maybe it does demonstrate my core personality

Quirks,
You couldn't pay me enough to be on Survivor. I will publically admit here and now that I am a self proclaimed princess and roughing it for me is no where NEAR being in a situation like that. No way, no how. No money in the world could entice me to do such a thing. Not even for a few days. Give me the closest hotel and I'm cool. Sounds bad, but it's the truth. Besides, I hate watching all that back stabbing. I'm already hooked on the Apprentice since it began and that's bad enough.

Quirky,
I actually enjoy "Survivor" and if I had the physical health I'd be trying out. Of course I'd run off with the archaeologists if I was on the present show, hehe. Shadow

I don't watch the show, but I swear I must
work with some of those people from that description. I don't hold it against them for acting like primates while under extreme pressure. Not only that, but I can't say I definitely wouldn't act the same way under similar circumstances. Scary. Hopefully, it will never come to that. But, I can say I wouldn't voluntarily put myself in that situation to win a tv game.

Quirkyalone, I'm not interested in that TV game show, I'd rather watch
The Weakest Link. LOL But, even at my age, I could survive if I had to if I was lost in the wilderness--at least for quite a while.

I'm with you on this one. I love that show and the Amazing Race. It's pure escapism. Watching them doesn't make me the same as them. Some of them are despicable people, others aren't. I love the picking-off process. Then, when it's over, I turn it off and forget about it all.

I've never watched the show and have no desire to. Watching supposedly "normal" people consumed by their basest insticts is not my idea of entertainment.

I agree. People don't just turn on a backstabbing personality at will. I just wonder what all of these "elimination" shows say about our society these days. It seems like television has gotten awfully brutal. A really positive show that I like is "Extreme Makeover - Home Edition", where they help a poor family by building them a dream home. I also like "Super Nanny". Have you ever seen it? The teacher in me loves to see her whip those little hooligans into shape!

Quirks... I can't say what I'd do if starved and left out in the rain for
days with bugs eating me alive... I'd probably vote myself off! LOL The funniest part to these shows for me is knowing that there's a cameraman nearby eating a cheeseburger.

I couldn't agree more
with your final paragraph Quirky. We don't suddenly become connivers because we start playing a game. Nothing can justify turning into another creature for a few weeks to win money. That said, I never watch Survivor, too many other interesting stuff to watch on t.v..
