Silvermoon7, I think I posted this having seen some cord-yankers in action. Can't remember who or what but sometimes it annoys. Sometimes i wonder too why what sets of the alarm bells in me does not have the same impact on others.

Well, I'm a heart-writer.  If I have a story to tell, then I tell it as I see it.  I don't write to yank people's cords.  I don't think I have it in me to do that.  And I make it a point to stay away from writers who do.  I prefer authenticity.  I will, however, work a little harder to angle a Blogit subject line to induce curiosity.  But I also work hard to ensure it pertains to the post itself.  I really hate being manipulated.  I find it insulting.

tapsel-t, the only measure is our own knowledge that we are being true to ourselves.

Hemlocker, some people program themselves against revealing what's in their hearts

I like to think I write from the heart,

but I know I write on here because it is better to get my feelings out of my head in my blog rather than have them bouncing around aimlessly in my brain ready to be blurted out at a not so great time.

I've found that the things I 'need' to write can't be contained, MayB.  They find their way onto the page, sometimes against my better judgement.

Jomei, I think you can sense when something is from the heart

Spitfire70, it's possible to write from the heart and be funny, sarcastic, ironic etc. If we denied these feelings then we would not be true to ourselves

MayB,
I agree with Hemlocker. It's not sickley, but true. I often write with more of a humorous/sarcastic tone, but often times, it is at least partially how I feel. It's just how I choose to present it. There are times here and there, that I do write with serious emotion within my heart.

MayB, I would like to write from the heart and at times I really do put effort into that, but at other times I am really disappointed in what I put out.

MayB--
Not sickly at all.  In fact, in a small space, this says much. It's one of my problems; I can write well, sometimes very well, but it often feels like something is missing.  It's the heart and soul, I am afraid, and that's not really something that can be "learned." Hemlocker

I'm glad someone said this
I try to write from the heart and love reading other people that do so. Personally, I think there's so much crap on here... people writing about other bloggers and what they said etc... aaaarrrrghhhh!!

well guess I am guilty of both

but for the most part, it's from my heart...

.... although once in a while, I shamelessly self promote-lol

Here's a good place for taking and teaching online courses.  I signed up to teach my first online writing class.  It took me months to develop.  Yikes.  Creative Writing Workshop.  I keep checking it just because it looks so cool...to see my name in lights....

What I mainly refer to here is the motive.......
I get the sense with some writers that the words are expressed purely and with others that it is for effect or impact.

I don't always write a heartfelt post...I do so when I really need....
when I do...it feels so good

Good points. You're right: from the heart is instantaneously noticed.

MayB...I have a preference for heart filled or spirit filled writing.
I'd never cut it as a technical writer.  My emotionally creative bends would ruin me!

I do agree with you. Reading something written from the heart is a special experience.
