I enjoy talking to myself in places like the grocery store.
You're already pushing a shopping cart, and people tend to avoid you, giving you quick and easy access to shelves as well as rapid service through checkout.
Besides, wise man say, speak to the most intelligent one in the room...

Offbeat--
I talk to myself about anything and everything, whatever either happens to cross my mind at the time, or reactions to what I might see walking down the street or in the store. Basically, I am thinking out loud...somewhere I have picked up the habit of speaking everything I am thinking. Well not EVERYTHING...lol.

Quirky
You really talk to yourself in public? I would love to see the video of that. I am sorry, it must be a really bad habit, but at least your not answering yourself are you? What do you talk about?
The reason I am asking is because my sister does the same thing, and I think it is weird..but not a disease..She will pick up an item in the store and say something like "How much is this?" to herself~~

That's okay, Quirks. We still love you! I carry on imagined conversations in the car. Whatever issue is looming in my head, I'll talk it out with someone else--who isn't there--in the car while I drive. I also sing loudly in there, but that's another subject.

Just get connected
To blend in with the rest of the world, wear a set of ear plugs and tuck the wires into your shirt. No one looks to see what you're connected to, or cares. They just assume you are on the phone or listening to tunes and not some weirdo talking to themselves. lol

Next time somebody laughs at you while you're talking to yourself, just tell them, "Hey, at least I'm not snorting bean dip through my nose." And then say, "Right, Quirky?" Then giggle and slap your thigh....

Quirky.. Getting my kids off to school on time with breakfast and a smile and the effort it took to send them off with a good attitude while I was steaming inside at some of their antics caused me to talk, yell, cuss and whatever else, the sad thing is that they never heard a word of it .. But, I felt better. Those people that stare at you probably do far worse things in public!

Quirky, my husband shouts to himself inside his car
and I have seen him mumbling to himself while fixing something around the house....I myself am guilty of this if I am alone in the house sometimes:)
Well, public places will get you a few stares, but what the heck, you are quirky, and we love you the way you are!

Quirky,
A few days back we had a tagging game among bloggers and quite a few people wrote this under the heading "Seven things I can do" one very important observation was this Talk to myself....
It is now pretty common except that when it is louder it catches others' attention, otherwise in the heart of hearts we are talking to oursleves, right?

Totally funny
They say that talking to yourself is fairly normal, answering yourself is another story. With this in mind, there has to be at least a few million crazy people walking around. Scary thought, huh?

Quirks,
Holy crap! I was just thinking about posting about my "bad habit" too! Now, I won't. Let me just say that I do it ALL the time! My boss often asks me, "Talkin' to your favorite person again?" But HE does it way more than I do. The scary thing is when people say, "Well, as long as you don't answer yourself." Doh!

Obviously, a lot of people do this or there wouldn't be all the sayings and t-shirts about it....I talk to myself occasionally....to stay organized when I'm going a lot of things at once....to fuss at myself, etc. I like the one about having to talk to oneself to assure intelligent conversation......I'm quite sure that's your motivation!

Wow, Quirky--
Today must be "confess our disorders" day. Nearly every blog I've clicked on to today has been about something related to mental illness or medical marijuana or just strange behaviors. I wish the people here who are really sick would talk about it, but they can't because they don't know they are.

This is a cute post. I love the snort bean dip out their nose, part. ha-ha. My mom always talked to herself when she would go into a room alone, even if someone was there in another room. So, it doesn't seem that strange to me. ha-ha I don't talk to myself, but I do yell at myself a lot. I say things like, when I hit my head for example, "That was smart, why don't you do it again!" Don't know why I am that way. I never-ever treat anyone else like that. Oh well, I guess, I am what I am. Do you still like me just a little?

Quirky,
Sounds like you'd be a lot of fun to be around. Maybe when people start staring at you, you could look at them and say something like, "Just thinking out loud. If I get violent, will someone please stop me?" Maybe you'd get a few chuckles and then they'd be laughing with you, not at you, and their stares would disappear. Whatever, what they think isn't important. I bet you are a riot to be around and that's a good thing. Good blog.

Quirky,
I at least confine the conversations with self to when I am sitting at my desk and most times, I'm talking to the computer anyway...BTW, my son has a lot of monologues. He simulates talk on a cell phone, walking back and forth. He talks to himself when he's running his cars. He even told me on day I couldn't sit where I hovered, because I was about to sit on his friend.

The other day I heard someone say that kids often have imaginary friends but in reality, they are actually seeing spirits, because kids are far less veiled than adults, so they tend to be able to see into this world. Have you ever asked him if he is talking to someone, or just to himself??
