- Go to DeLay Booked on Money Laundering Charges
writeroflight I didn't mix up Fitzgerald I was just making a comparison
on how Starr was loved by the Repubs and Fitzgerald is distained by many repubs for doing his job.

WriterofLight,
As Scoop asked: "Where is Delay going to go"? Bail is set based on the potential of flight from justice! Not on the crime committed. You are good though!

Scoop, I forgot to mention . . .
. . . that what struck me about the bail was that it was only $10,000 and not some hugely higher amount. Given how the media, not to mention Earle and other party hacks, have hyped this, I'm surprised it wasn't a lot higher.

Straightforward, that's a fascinating way to look at this!
Thanks for the comment!

Scoop, I think you're a little off course here.
First off, not all judges are crooked. But beware those who are or can be. As you can see from the way I wrapped this up, I can't wait for this to go to court. If this was a Democrat being indicted on phony charges I'd be just as passionate for him or her to be vindicated as well, if legit then for appropriate penalties. You have your prosecutors mixed up, Fitzgerald is handling the Plame investigation while Ronnie Earle, a blatantly partisan (see previous posts) Democrat from Austin, is doing this.

True what scoop says about bail.
But can we begin to look at money laundering and all the opportunities that there are for this to happen around us, etc.? As for instance with gambling, lotteries, casinos. With the dreams that the State tries to sell us?

And bail means nothing it is set only to insure that the defendant
returns to court, and where is DeLay going to go? He isn't going to skip out.

You are obsessed with this aren't you?
Why can't you let the courts decide? Why is it that all the judges are crooked? During the Terry Sciavo deal every judge that went against the case was crooked now this guy is questionable. If this was a democrat you would be salivating. I am not saying he is innocent or guilty let the case play out. When Ken Starr took on Clinton he was loved by the Republicans now this guy Fitzgerald is doing his job and he is hated by the Republicans and he was even approved by old W. Read his background on Burlys post.
