What a beautiful post!
Your post stirred a million thoughts and memories. How terrifying for you and Erika! I can only imagine the anguish of watching your child. My sister, my best friend, was in a coma for two days but didn't pull through.
As for language...intonations and dialects... I find that a fascinating study.
My husband, who has a British/English accent is often told by total strangers that they love to hear him talk. He has become an exotic creature here in the Midwest. I actually fell in love with him hearing his voice on the phone! And I didn't know I had an 'accent' until I moved to the States! I didn't realize there was such a difference between Canada and the northern States...boy was I wrong. I get that 'aboot' all the time!
Love your posts!
