I agree. But I firmly believe that as I get closer to being ready, the tests get harder. If that is true, then maybe I am getting close.

Ego doesn't act so much as re-act, its a mechanical thjing
That's why the journey can be so difficult. It's like having having an electronic sensor light which has worked flawlessly for years, turning one whenever someone comes to the porch, and expecting the circuitry to one day miraculously not work. The personality is a set of reflexes triggered by stimulus but has no inherent conscious life of its own. That's why its so difficult to disengage from it. Its just little, gradual steps. Don't forget, there would be millions of people that wouldn't even have thought about their behaviour after they ripped their brothers head off. You should praise yourself for having this awareness.

I think Kenneth Wapnick referred to this as a 'guilt hangover.' I've experienced this many times. It's getting to be less and less of a problem, the more I watch myself when I'm not uncomfortable.
