Welcome, BrazGorilla!
Glad to have you on board, and thanks for commenting. No offense taken at all.
I do try to follow the news, but I refuse to follow where the former mainstream news media wants to lead me with it. Instead, I try to offer perspectives that the former mainstream news media likely will not offer, usually with varying amounts of sarcasm thrown in. From my point of view, the judicial system already is down the tubes, with health care and social security not far behind, and this thanks to lack of a strong conservative government since the Reagan years. You'll find lots to read about on these issues elsewhere in this blog.
I live in a big UAW town, and from local stories the UAW is harming itself. The unfortunate stereotype of the labor union bullies strongarming and intimidating those who do not toe the line is alive and well here. Unions have done and still do a great deal of good, but just like any other manifestation of power, they are also subject to abuse. Union greed for ultra-high wages and benefits have contributed mightily to the exporting of jobs to cheaper labor markets and the overpricing of many American goods. To me, the ultimate of union irresponsibility was the strike against the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific railroad circa 1980. The railroad was already on the ropes financially, yet at least one of its unions voted to strike. The strike ended up costing everyone their jobs because it killed the railroad.
Good analogy for Perot.

It's BIGGER than you think!
I'm curious to know? do you just follow the headlines? I'm not trying to insult you, but you have to think,is who can benifit by these idiots running around, that WE trained. mabey we'll catch up with them in 2008. and ready to re-elect a republican. So we can watch all, SSN, Medicare, healthcare, Judical system, etc.... all go down the tubes. oh also to include the U.A.W. but hey that will be 2006 not 2008. I was never big on Perot because he reminded me of Nepoleon. It doesn't matter who we elect. They will never be for the people, by the people, more like, for himself, by himself. Read BrazGorilla for some insight.

Glenn, thank you for holding me accountable
I have been tied up and haven't had time until tonight to reply. I have corrected that. Mission accomplished, as it were.
Good comment about Shrillary, and good question about Perot; I believe he retired. And what of things after the 2008 election? I'm eager to see a good, strong conservative Republican step up and win. No preferences as to who yet, but someone who will keep the country moving in the "right" direction.
That said: I welcome your comments, but you are to refrain from personal attacks against other readers. Disagree all you want, but if you insult them or call them names, as you did to Corbin a couple of times this week, you will be blocked. Savvy?

WriterofLight,
Hmmmmm? I noticed that you no longer comment on comments to your inept and melodramatic attack on any thing that feels like an alternative to Bush Inc.! Well at some point we will have a AB (After Bush) period in America! What then? Tell me! Who cares what Senator Clinton says! This woman can't keep her husband on board! Where is Ross Perot when you need him?
