WriterofLight,
We lost each other in the translation on this one! Justice Thomas is such a fence straddler it is hard to know what "Color" he is> But that is not the issue if you write law or interpret law based on political ideologies you have no law!

Thanks, Jane and Glenn!
Glenn, I was hoping you'd weigh in on this one. Given Senator Byrd's experience as a Grand Kleagle of the Ku Klux Klan, somehow I'm not the least bit surprised that the old bigot would be upset by a black nominee to the Supreme Court. How the lbierals can defend this guy is one of the great mysteries.

GlennB - brilliantly put ...
Clarence Thomas is "white enough" for the conservatives.

WriterofLight,

We have to admit that we have selective favoritism? Ole "W" did tie the Chicken Flu money to terrorism! Why would anyone want to give Chickens a bad name?

Bubba destoyed the Presidency Ok! Bush has buried it! Can we all start over?

When people reach a comfort level they will often surrender their dignity and culture to the conveniences of life! Clearance Thomas, as you know, did drag out the ole "race" card when the heat got on his ass during his hearings (pissed Senator Byrd off in the process)! So I am not so sure by your definition that he is "White Enough" for you!

Oh, and by the way . . .
. . .  see my rant yesterday about the closed-door session of Congress for the reply to your trying to tie the indictment to the war. Whining Harry tried it too, and he too was wrong.

"disremembered . . . "

Thank you, fwmystic, for the net word of the day!  One of the few terms Bubba didn't use for memory failure when telling the truth was to be avoided.

How about citing some evidence about black opinion of Justice Thomas? And since when is adherence to an ethnic stereotype a crtieria for being on the Supreme Court? Or, for that matter, having "soul"? If "stereotype" was too strong a word for your tastes, consider: You are saying that Justice Thomas isn't considered "black enough." As I understand it, such an accusation is usually based on how the one being accused thinks and/or behaves and/or lives. He or she doesn't think/behave/live in the accepted way - the stereotype - and is therefore inferior. Hence my charge of bigotry.

Re Plame: You need to do your homework. Once again: She outed herself, and her husband outed her as well. All this happened a year before the incident cited in the investigation. That, I believe, is why the so-called outing was never even the subject of charges in the indictment. Because Lyin' Joe and Ms. Plame had already blown her cover, the accusation that Libby or anyone else had was moot.

Apparaently, you consider most African Americans "the far left" ...
since the majority of the black people in the US do not consider Thomas to be "black," and, in fact, most consider Slick to have much more soul than Clarence T.

So, apparently lying to a grand jury to mask the outing of a CIA agent in retribution for her husband's report casting doubt on one of the major justifications for starting a WAR is permissble to the GOP.

Memory lapses? That's a new one! How about disremembered? Unremembered?
