UtahAngel22,
I've switched to keyboard now. All those black buttons on Bubba were driving me crazy. I sorta miss Bubba, though. Maybe I'll come back to him someday.

I've never played the accordian...
And never known anyone to play it...until now...plus I'm tone deaf! Good luck with Bubba though!

AJ,
I could really use your advice. I'm having trouble learning chords. John (husband) pointed out it's first note, fifth, then 8th in major chords, and 1, 4, and 8 in the minors. I worked on it and found out he's right.

I can find C, F and G, but have trouble knowing when other chords should be played.

What should I do?

I play the accordion--in a way. That is...

...I play the keyboard and can make it sound like an accordion!  Love to do polkas and Lady Of Spain when it's in that mode--and it works well for country songs, too--especially, Cajun.

One of the celebrities I was ga-ga over from an early age was Myron Floren who was a regular--practically, a co-star!--on The Lawrence Welk Show.

This, by the way, was a show I would watch with my elders rather than my peers, because most kids my age wanted nothing to do with it.

One of my cousins couldn't even stand to have it on for more than a minute or two.  If she couldn't change the channel, she'd leave the room!

One day, I decided to play Rate-A-Record with her (like they did on Dick Clark's American Bandstand) and put on Runaway using the version done by Lawrence Welk's orchestra.  She gave it a nearly-perfect score--and was she ever shocked when I told her who was doing the song!

That's another song I love to do on my keyboard--with a sort of haunting organ sound and percussion.

Now, I feel like dancing!

Cheers!
AJ

"Hi" from Bubba, Tiel
Thanks for letting me put my 2 cents in the junk heap list.

The old shows are really best: WKRP, Cheers, Green Acres, Hillbillies...oops, showing my age on those last ones.

Song Bird

Nope, sorry.  I'm not an accoridan player, but say "Hi" to Bubba for me.   I , like you, loved KWRP.  Wish it were still going, but all of those wonderful funny people are getting a little long in the tooth now.  The re-runs are forever fresh, though.  I added your "Weapons of mass destruction" to the Junk Heap of History.  Thanks.
