I was never a history buff.
Why didn' they teach history the way you write about it when I was a kid. And for that matter why didn't they teach tolerance. A very nice piece.

Ariel,
Please do. I am definitely interested, as I have not studied that period of history. I have deliberately shielded myself from some of the uglier aspects of history, but now that I'm old enough, I think it's time for me to learn.

Thank you for dropping by.
I have had published a series of articles on the Spanish Inquisition, and I'm considering posting it here. I suspect that many people are completely ignorant of the scale, the scope, the methods and the duration of the Spanish Inquisition. ( I write Spanish, because it was a radically different beast from the Roman, or Papal In quisition )

Ariel70,
It is truly amazing that followers of Christ, the spirit of peace, forgiveness and brotherly love, can contort faith into hatred and inquisiton. It's a dark stain on the human soul, this need to make scapegoats of another race, to feel superior. I love the Spanish style houses of Mexico, they hide their true face from the street and only inside do you see the ornate grillwork, color and fountains. I would love to see Spain someday.
