Those are pretty good reasons...
I'm definitely not ready for smell-o-vision, and you've just reminded me a reasons why.  Thanks...

It is a natural progression from what we already had.
So naturally, it's a horrible idea. TV is one of those rare birds that only gets worse as new ideas come in.

I too think it would be a very bad idea!

All I can think of when I read a post like this...
is Emeril Lagasse, who will occasionally ask viewers - in a joking way - to call their cable companies and request Smell-o-Vision. I wonder all the time if people actually take him seriously and call Comcast or Cablevision or whatever.

Ahhh yes!
There are certainly negative aspects to smell-o-vision!

Actually I don't have a TV

one less stream of information  that I have to deal with.

Glad I don't now that you mention this invention,  rolling eyes

all around you...

Guess someone would have to be STUPID enough to buy the thing. Thankfully, I ONLY shop at thrift stores, so I get all the old, outdated stuff.

QuirkyAlone,
I just read part of an article in the NYTimes claiming that innovation, the science and technology and public and government support for invention is declining in the US, and we might lose our industrial base. With inventions like, that, no wonder!

posted by Blanche. on November 13, 2005 at 6:02 PM | link to this | reply

Quirky...the sickest part of this is that there are probably
going to be a lot of people who think this is great.

I wonder whether it works with those "feremone" smells that are supposed to turn us on? I think the general productivity of men in the country would drop dramatically!

Ha, Quirky!

This is too funny!  I guess some inventions are better left , um ... uninvented!
