I can't write with a whole bunch of noise going on, either.

Original,
I particularily do not like the "hover" method. Small children have been reduced to ashes while participating in this game.

I'm the same way, especially at work
If you can't be creative on the spot in front of one or two people, I say SO WHAT! :)

I always have the TV on while I'm writing. Sometimes my son hangs over my neck, sometimes not. But I admit, Its better to write with no interruptions!

My house was so quiet growing up...
I don't even know how I'd deal with a real family, like kids and all that. But, it's gets a little too quiet around here. My friend has five kids, all under 12 (the youngest under a year) and when I talk to him I want to pull my hair out. But, he loves it, he's so happy. Maybe I have it all wrong....

Whew!
Can I breath now? Don't you just hate it when the tv commercials come on twice as loud as the show?
