I'm not a big fan of living with and working with the same person.

I dunno,

but it certainly would be a fascinating experience.

But if you collaborate

Who will you be able to come home to and complain about the yahoos around the water cooler to?

(Did that make sense?).

Good question, but I have no answer here.

Might be fun to at least give it a try my friend.

I'd rather keep work and love separate
but I know couples who can do this collaboration thing!

Hmmmm... good question Maybe
I think I could work with my ex-husband. Now that we are divorced and not bemoaning the fact we are not in love... we are great friends.

I have just

started collaborating on an animation with someone

I sure do hope it doesn't ruin the friendship as we work closely in other areas too.

Mayb,
Woops, I need to edit my comments better, that should read "how shamlessly"

Mayb,
Ye Gads, what how shamelessly self-promoting (Not that's necessarily a bad thing, but there's a limt).  People forget that listening is more attractive than talking non-stop.  Sheesh.

You're welcome!

BlancheDubois, after spending time with them on a trip put on for travel writers I was not at all curious about their guides. I remember a gathering on that trip where we interviewing locals. I asked a local woman a question and the woman from that obnoxious couple turned to me and said, that information is all in the books and brochures. Another writer, who was one of the most inspirational writers I've ever met turned to her and said, "we want to hear about it in their own words."

Much easier to see it functioning in non-fiction

than fiction or poetry. It might work for a play where he could do the male parts and she the female.

Thanks for proofing my Observatory Blog.  ARGUS

Mayb,

Together they can bore the pants collectively off an entire room. LOL that's some recommendation, but probably sums up most people's feelings about hearing other's travel adventures.  That's probably  a key: finding a subject both have a passion and knowledge of, and having the patience to work together.

Malcolm, at least that's known and understood. Sometimes it's better if you are not in the same business as your partner

Mike Brown, I remember it well. I hope the next one goes well and beware of clashes over artistic differences as they say

This is the second such couple I've heard of. There was also one that I have read about call Nikki Gerrard and Sean French who write separately but also write together using some combination of their names

poetjpb, these days we can get round that by collaborating online ;-)

Avant-garde. I think collaborations can be character-building in that we learn about ourselves in working with others

Fionajean, I'm sure that's true but in some cases it might be worth it

JohnMcnab, I think it's worth looking into because between us we can create something far beyond what either of us might do and we might balance each other as out interests and styles are different

My wife
either loves my writing or hates it. I think I'd have to have some kind of Astral chart if we were to work together but basically it wouldn't.

there's a pair of writers
named Kellerman - each writes mysteries on their own, and they have collaborated on at least one. I think her name is Faye and his Jonathan. One does psych thrillers, the other straight detective, although there's a certain amount of prying through the human mind in any good mystery, I think.  Apparently there's enough money in their collaborative efforts to make it worthwhile to work their way around any quirks or disputes...

Never tried a joint venture. I'm not so sure it would work well.

Hi
Don't think I could write with someone else - Just too annoying. (I'd annoy them, they'd annoy me)

Two creative minds working together on the same project sounds like the answer to a prayer.  You could inspire each other.

My husband would get fired if I worked with him...he's way to slow paced
for me...but he's definitely creative and a good editor, so it's nice to have someone spell a word for you when you say, "How do you spell ....?"
