Indeed so, as witness the sudden eruption of genocide in Rwanda. I.5 million people killed with rudimentary weapons ; handguns and machetes.

We never learn, do we?

Incidentally, I would welcome your comments on this : Jews were not subject to ecclesiastical law, and therefore could not be punished by the Church, but only by the civil authorities. Am I correct therefore in stating that the mediaeval Church could only exhort secular powers to persecute them?

No, my interst in history is general, and not focused on any particular aspect of it.

You seem to have a great understanding of Spanish history. What is your motivation? Is it that your motivation especially for the inquisition is borne out of your Roman catholic background? I must admit that, I am very impressed. Good day and may God Bless you.
