Your mother is really wonderful.  People like her--and my own mother, thank God for such a blessing--help restore faith in this world.

Yes, your Mom is special and I agree that good works do come back....
Kindnesses often forgotten come back to us when we least expect them. It's not farfetched to think that her blessings can rub off on you.

that 'God could not be everywhere so he created mother' mothers are our biggest blessings for the lifetime & being a mother is one complete existence.

>:-} wow, Quirky, your Mom is really a sweetie for sure! Reminds me of how
my mom was. She never really was doing very well herself, but always managed to find time to help other people when there was a need.

That's awesome!
I've experienced the whole caretaker thing lately with a neighbor who had neck surgery, and it can be quite difficult when you want to get back to your life, but overall it's something that I'm glad I helped her with, because she had no one else.

What a precious post, Quirkyalone.   As a mother myself I can understand her desire for comfort and assistance for her child when needed.   And, as a daughter who misses her mom so even after ten years, I can understand how you feel about her.   You are fortunate to have each other even if you are miles apart.

You're right, your Mom is a special lady....however, I also know that her daughter (you) take after your Mother.  You are special in your own right...your blogs help & inspire & motivate...you are courageous in writing about many things that no one else would or could in a very eloquent way.  Thanks for being YOU.

Your wonderful mom is probably right!
I know that good karma has a way of coming back. Sounds like your mom has it wired.

Your mother is wonderful!  I sometimes get scared about being on my own and wonder what would happen if I needed the kind of help your mother is giving her neighbor!  The only thing I know about the "karma" side of the issue is that Christianity says it is faith, not deeds, that make the difference.  But what is one without the other?  Happy Thanksgiving to you both!

By your description, your mother is special. I wish her acts in behalf of others, however, needed not to be considered special or remarkable.  I wish every one of us was capable of reaching out to others in need, as she does.

Quirky....A wonderful mom and woman, indeed.
She sounds like an angel, absolutely, and God bless her. My mom is the same way...giving, goes without so others can have, etc. We are blessed to have such kind=hearted moms. I aspire to be even half the woman she is. You are very lucky, too, Quirky. Nothing wrong with stock-piling....

That is a blessing. I wanted to apologize to you for not mentioning you. I read you daily and I want to thank you now for demonstrating integrity and kindness. I'm impressed and inspired that you would speak out about things that are at the fringe of acceptance.
