MayB--
Seems like I haven't visited you for a while, so I read a bunch of your previous posts.  I like the one about the roommate wearing a shirt where men don't, ordinarily.

Very succinct post

Interesting and accurate description May
From reading successful news & political blogs elsewhere, I'm learning how to expand the possibilities, but those private musings, though numerous and overhashed (a determination I consider myself guilty of) are worthwhile. Good to have one or more for play and others for hay, or something like that.;)

Jomei, I think blogging replaces journalism around the edges .. the line has moved in from the edge over the years

I never thought of it that way....
blogs replacing journalism. I guess it is actually empowering to the people if you look at it that way, until blog tryants put you under the light and say "ve haf vays to make zyu blog"....

So many people just roll their eyes when they hear the word blog now.  And in a way I can see why.  But they obviously haven't experienced a blogging "community" such as this.

MerryAnne, I think that there is confusion but by and large it is about the amplification of the personal view

Hi Bright Irish
The carriage and food were real enough but the destination was up to us

Ginnieb, it probably is a place to meet people
It might not start out that way but it has probably drawn in people who would otherwise go on chat lines

Yes I think a lot of people are just confused by blogging...
...some even look at it as 'just another one of those places to get to know others online'. I told some old friends recently that I get paid for blogging (I did explain it was just pennies) but they were shocked! I'm sure they thought it was some undercover way to meet people! ;)

I think there is a lot of cufusion among non-bloggers about what blogging is, but it is all personal opinions.  That is the real beauty of it.

So, you're somewhat of a closet blogger, ahem?    I like your description of blogging.  I think it's a wonderful forum for non-published writers (and published writers who reveal themselves as such) to practice their skills.  Though alot of what we read on hear is "blah, blah, blah" in nature, I have come across some gems!  Why, as a matter of fact, Mayb, you shine quite brightly!
