We had a great weekend, BrightIrish. We hope you did as well. We are almost there with the computer and don't seem to have lost anything - fingers crossed.

Hello.. I'm so glad you finally have it working. I have a friend who lost everything o their computer and luckily they also printed their work as a backup. Hope you've enjoyed your weekend.

Oh-Oh. The machine just froze on me halfway thru my reply to your comment so it isn't a happy camper yet. It isn't software, Blanche. It is hardware. Basically it is an external hard drive which plugs into your machine. Once it is plugged in, your machine will tell how what to do. All I do is back it up once a month - as long as you know your main drive is working properly, that is - I haven't backed up anything since the problems began and I have no intention of doing so until I am 100% certain. The most I will lose will be what I've done since the beginning of November......
that, I can live with.

JohnMcNab,
Backup? What kind of backup? Do you have a name of software? (I guess that answers your question, huh?)

That sounds like the end of the world Blanche! Have you got a backup system? The only problem I have now is that the machine takes ages to close down, which means it still isn't perfect.

JohnMcnab,
You're making me nervous. Our Dell is acting very buggy, and we've had it in the shop once and had to erase everything. Arrgh.
