Maybe you didn't get the vomit out of your hair!
At least you weren't wearing pajama pants

Kansas
The land of tornados, sunflowers, and high property taxes--at least in this county.

Where are you, Whim?
I'm in the Mid-South, and I attend fairly conservative churches. Churches of the same denomination that we visited in the Pacific Northwest were a lot more laid back. They wore stuff to church that I would have worn only in my garden while spading up the ground for spring planting. Even in the church we went to where all of the women wore some form of head-covering.

Attire at Church

I found exactly the opposite when we looked for a church.  It seemed everyone under the age of retirement were dressed casually, children in shorts, women in slacks, men in polos.  I was accustom to dressing up as you are and felt out of place.  The only time people seem to dress for church now is the holidays.

I know the clothes shouldn't matter, but I find it sad when "Sunday best" loses its meaning.

That's a good point
Sweats are, indeed, ideal for getting grungy in.

Sweats and a sweatshirt...

were made for us to - well - sweat in. Therefore, I think they're appropriate for heavy housework, work which should make a homemaker work up a sweat. Besides, they're outfits I don't mind getting dirty, an important consideration when cleaning a grungy fridge or dusting an exceptionally dusty cabinet in an odd corner that you never normally get to.

Just my two cents' worth.

oh bother...

you're starting to sound like my husband....

don't you ever have a feel like sweatsuit day?

ps.  when I am wearing my scrubs.. and people ask me if I am a doctor, I say  yes, a paint doctor (as I create murals!)
