I miss some, not all, comments from people who call me May!
If you search for May or may a bazillion comments come up

Majroj, it looks like I made that comment thinking you would see it then

MayB, I missed your comment until now.

I search COMMENTS for "majroj"  and "maje" daily, and derivatives about bi-weekly. If there's no "majroj" then I don't see it. Sorry.

I've found misspelled comments a coujple of times which were really, fossilized.

I think that it's true that different brains demand different media. Pity the poor kids of all ages who can only handle digital images. Pity them in a power cut.

I think different minds demand different media. So do different brains.

Some of us learn better with our hands, others with our ears or eyes, and some with a two-by-four between the eyes. So why do we try to use a "one style fits all" approach to media?

I cannot learn as much reading from a video screen as from a bound book or pressed/printed paper. It is the way I'm built. I'll go so far as to print stuff out to study it. Talking books? I have to repeatedly rewind. Ditto movies if  I'm into it for more than the "whiz-bang".

And the convenience of a pocket book...the durability...the need only for light, eyesight and time.

So, give me a book or a paper. Hold the dance, record the concert and sell it to me after the event,  but give me the printed page.

(I can take or leave sculpture and graphic arts).

Malcolm, thanks. They do mix well. I'm recording on the iPod and writing on the screen for something that will be read in armchairs and at the table and on trains and planes. I love it!

Masky, thank you and yes I plan to have fun. It's not everyday you get to sit in the green room with some stars.

Good luck from me too
I think that print is far from dead and would bear witness to the many commuters who read books, magazines and newspapers every day. Yes, online/podcasting/music on the move is an essential part of the media mix now but, if anything, enhances the cut through of words in the printed media.

JohnMcNab, as a memory aid? Yes. for publication? NO
Great idea. My favorite way of remembering colors is to draw but there won't be time for that/

Good luck, MayB.  Do you take photographs?  I find photography is my way of remembering colours and surroundings - if necessary, that is.

Thanks for the welcome back. I'm not sure I can agree with them about things in print. Keep us informed of how it goes!
