Tiel,

Mira1,
What is the significance of the "Polish" teacher and student comment? That Poland backs the oppression of the Iraqi peoples does not bother you??

Billy Cargo,

Dear Corbin
Reading your posts is a real, intellectual pleasure. I see, you are an expert as far as politics is concerned. It is nice to know. I am finishing my studies at the Cracow College (American Studies: history, economics, politics, sociology etc), and I find your blog inspiring for me as a Polish teacher and a student. I will come back to it. I promise.

Corbin,
I remember during the re-election period for George W. that every time things got a little down for Georgie, we had a "terror alert" to scare the wussie americans. Now, it seems when Georgie sags in the polls, we capture or kill another "top" Al-Queda operative. Bin Laden has, at my last count, over 8,327 "top lieutenants" in his operation.

I appreciate all your comments, though some I don't happen to agree with.

Some of you are allowing your "feelings" about the overall war cloud your vision a bit.

I understand that getting  a #2 or #3 man has happened before........but that wasn't the point of my post.  Having another Al Qaeda operative captured isn't what is important........

What is important is how the capture came about.........

It wasn't a US operation, or  an Iraqi Defense force operation, or a combined operation of the two.........................

It was the Iraqi people capturing and turning in the terrorist sleaze.

That is a significant event........one that should be welcomed by every American, whether for or against the conflict.  Regardless of  your feelings about how or why we got there.

And why should we trust you on this one?  You know how "every" Iraqi citizen thinks, do you?

Hi Corbin Dallas....Yes, I applaud his capture....
but like Blackcat says, we have a long way to go. And I do wonder with BlancheDubois, why oh why can't we capture Osama Bin Laden. That one bugs me a lot.

Corbin Dallas,
The only "ruthless scum" in Iraq is the American presence! If you ask every Iraqi citizen what it is they are voting for? They will tell you America's exit! They will take care of the rest themselves! Trust me on this one!

Corbin,

How many No. 2 and No. 3 Al Qaeda operatives can there be? Do they move up the list?  Why can't anyone seem to find the 70ish year old Osama Bin Laden? Wouldn't his dialysis machine in the Afghani cave be a giveaway?

Corbin Dallas-It's one slow, steady step at a time in this battle, and has
been, from the beginning. Now 80 % of Iraquis want to live free, even as they know how difficult & treacherous the struggle. They're more determined than American dissenters!!

I hope that's true, but I think we've got a long way to go...

Corbin Dallas
This is wonderful news!  The people have lived under such great fear and for so long and that is not easy to overcome or dismiss. This bit of news tells me that they are finally beginning to see that there is a differant way of life for them and they are trying to get past their fears and extend themselves to make a better life in their own country. BRAVO!

to the #3 spot or is al Qaeda done.........get real they just keep coming.

The more the people are involved in this process, the more the fear associated with it will go down. I applaude these people for tuning the murderes in...may many more follow!

Corbin, We have seen this happening since the beginning. We just haven't
admitted it to ourselves.  I equate this to the Demo telling Howard Dean to "S.U".  Turn him over to the authorities!
